Here are Some of the Safety Features in the 2023 Volkswagen Atlas

The 2023 Volkswagen Atlas is a very safe three-row SUV that benefits from all of the latest technologies that are engineered to keep you and your passengers safe out on the road.

The Travel Assist system

The 2023 Volkswagen Atlas is available with the Travel Assist system which combines the dynamic cruise control system and the lane-keeping assist in order to provide a semi-autonomous driving experience on most highways in Canada and the United States. This technology helps you relax behind the wheel but it also makes longer drives safer by keeping the Atlas in its lane and at a safe distance from other vehicles, even when the speed of traffic fluctuates. In heavy traffic, this system can also take the Atlas to a complete stop behind a leading vehicle and then accelerate back up to speed once it is possible to do so.

The forward collision warning system

The 2023 Volkswagen Atlas comes standard with the forward collision warning system with pedestrian detection and autonomous emergency braking. This system monitors the road in front to detect any risk of collision with another vehicle, a solid object, or a pedestrian. If such an accident is about to happen, the Atlas will audibly warn you and it will apply the brakes on its own if you don’t react quickly enough. This can help avoid a collision entirely or it can reduce its force, which leads to less serious injuries.

The rear cross-traffic alert

The 2023 Volkswagen Atlas also comes standard with the rear cross-traffic alert system that can warn you when another vehicle is coming from the sides when backing up. This is especially useful when exiting a parking bay where you can’t easily see to the sides. This technology is tied in with the blind spot monitoring system, which alerts you when another car is positioned in your blind spot so that you don’t attempt to change lanes when it is unsafe to do so.
