For 2024, Volkswagen unveiled a revamped Atlas family, boasting noteworthy alterations in its lineup. Not only will the new Atlas feature four distinct trim levels, but it also introduces an entirely new edition: the Peak Edition.
2024 Atlas
In terms of power and performance, all variants of the 2024 Atlas are delivered with a four-cylinder turbocharged and direct-injection TSI engine. This engine churns out a commendable 269 horsepower complemented by 273 lb-ft of torque. Comparatively, this engine is a worthy successor to the outgoing VR6, granting the SUV enhanced torque over a wider rev range, which invariably boosts acceleration and drivability, not to mention superior fuel efficiency. Every model in this lineup will feature an eight-speed automatic transmission along with Volkswagen’s proprietary 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system.
The inner sanctum of the Atlas has also seen some transformation. Retaining the foundational design of the outgoing models, the 2024 lineup is enhanced with an interior dressed in premium materials. Highlights include a soft-touch dash and center console with leatherette trim. This luxurious element is continued into the first-row door trim, which seamlessly merges with the dashboard. This design approach extends to the second-row door as well, ensuring a consistent, high-end look throughout.
The base model, Atlas Comfortline, bears a price tag of $49,995. Some of its standard features encompass 18-inch machined aluminum-alloy wheels, a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment display, a 10.25-inch Volkswagen Digital Cockpit Pro, heated front seats and mirrors, and much more.
Peak Edition
However, the highlight of the 2024 lineup is undoubtedly the Atlas Peak Edition. Priced at $53,995, it builds upon the offerings of the Comfortline. Distinguishing itself, the Peak Edition sports 18-inch black alloy wheels coupled with all-terrain tires, an exclusive interior color scheme, and unique décor.
Adding to its distinctive appearance, it features silver underbody cladding, blackout external detailing, and the signature Peak Edition badging. Other notable features that set the Peak Edition apart include aluminum door scuff plates, illuminated external elements, second-row sunshades, and a 30-color ambient lighting system.
The new 2024 Volkswagen Atlas lineup is delivers both familiarity and novelty, with the Peak Edition setting a new benchmark for the model.
