Introducing the All-New Volkswagen ID.7: A Game Changer in the Electric Sedan Market

Volkswagen has raised the bar in the electric vehicle market with the recent unveiling of their ID.7, a groundbreaking entry into the upper midsize sedan class. Slated for a European and Chinese launch in Fall 2023, followed by a North American release in 2024, the ID.7 is poised to redefine expectations for electric sedans.

Boasting exceptional aerodynamics and a cutting-edge, efficient drivetrain, the ID.7 offers an impressive estimated range of up to 700 km (WLTP cycle), making it the perfect companion for extended journeys. This long-range capability is further complemented by a spacious, well-appointed cabin that prioritizes passenger comfort.

The ID.7 sets itself apart as the first Volkswagen to feature a new display and operating concept, elevating the user experience to new heights. Standard elements will include an impressive 15-inch infotainment screen and an augmented reality head-up display. As well, it will include a state-of-the-art air conditioning system, which, when combined with optional Climatronic seats and massage functions, ensures an unparalleled level of comfort during long trips.

The ID.7 can be equipped with enhanced assistance systems that provide best-in-class driving performance. With Travel Assist supported by swarm data, the car can seamlessly take over lateral and longitudinal control as required. Developed in collaboration with CARIAD, Volkswagen’s software company, this feature enables the car to facilitate assisted lane changing when travelling at speeds in excess of 90 km/h on a multi-lane motorway, with the driver in continuous monitoring mode. Parking becomes significantly easier and stress-free, as the car is capable of performing various assisted manoeuvres. One such manoeuvre is memory parking over distances of up to 50 metres, where the driver can either monitor the procedure remotely using their smartphone or remain seated inside the car.

Another standout feature is the available panoramic sunroof with innovative smart glass technology, allowing passengers to easily adjust the opacity of the glass for optimal sunlight control. This marriage of style and functionality perfectly encapsulates the spirit of the ID.7.
