Volkswagen Canada has announced pricing details for its refreshed 2024 Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport models. The redesigned SUVs are set to provide refined elegance, boosted performance, and a more engaging driving experience.
Starting at an MSRP of $49,995 for the Atlas and $48,895 for the Atlas Cross Sport, the new iterations boast major interior enhancements and a more potent turbocharged engine. The 2024 Atlas family is solely powered by a four-cylinder turbocharged, direct-injection TSI engine, generating 269 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. This improved engine offers a broader torque range, thus enhancing drivability and acceleration, and is expected to deliver better fuel economy. Standard equipment across the range includes an eight-speed automatic transmission and Volkswagen’s 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system.
The Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport interiors witness a significant transformation for 2024. Both models introduce premium materials, including a leatherette-trimmed soft-touch dash and center console, quilted leather seats on top-range models, and innovative backlit dash décor. A redesigned center console with a storage cubby, heated steering wheel with shift paddles, ventilated front seats, and three-zone Climatronic automatic climate control enhance comfort features.
The Atlas model offers four trim levels, introducing a new Peak Edition, while the Atlas Cross Sport comes in three trims. The seven-seater Atlas gets a substantial boost with the new Peak Edition, which presents unique interior and exterior details such as unique wheels, all-terrain tires, black-out exterior details, and signature interior design.
Trim levels vary in their offerings, from the standard 18-inch machined aluminum-alloy wheels, LED headlights, and a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment display in the Atlas Comfortline, to the unique 18-inch black alloy wheels with all-terrain tires and 30-colour ambient lighting in the Peak Edition. The Highline and Execline R-Line trims build on these features, adding leather seat trim, a panoramic sunroof, and a premium Harman Kardon audio system among other upgrades.
For the Atlas Cross Sport models, offerings are similar to their Atlas counterparts, except for the absence of third-row seating. The Atlas Cross Sport Comfortline starts at $48,895, the Highline at $55,895, and the Execline R-Line at $58,895.
All trims feature the IQ.DRIVE package, which includes a comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems. The revamped models will hit Canadian dealerships by Q3 of 2023, marking a new chapter in the Atlas family's evolution. The fresh design elements, enhanced performance, and feature-packed trims are anticipated to build upon the SUVs' success, offering consumers a comprehensive and captivating package.
